Benjamin Kuentz defines himself as a French whisky publisher, choosing to work with several distilleries in France instead of distilling himself.

His recipes reflect his personal tastes and are the results of encounters, memories, and a desire to share. He details them as much as possible (nose, mouth, finish, flavours, structure, sensations, associated moment) and then works directly with the cellar master of the partner distillery, selected according to the type of whisky he wants to create. At the distillery, he then tastes barrels for selection, and sends new ones for different finishes. He works on the blend and shares his feelings in order to find the balance that he seeks.

(D'Un) Verre Printanier

(D'Un) Verre Printanier will surprise you with its lightness and freshness. Such as nature when it rises, this Single Malt from the Mirabelle plum country will awake you to new fragrances and colors. It distinguishes itself with a well-defined taste between rough flavour and fragrance but keeps its secrecy that will keep you on tenterhooks. The dominant feature is fruity with subtle notes of white fruits and fresh cereal with a spicy finish and a nice softness. An open air olfactory promenade off the beaten track.

Ideal for culinary combinations at the beginning of a meal (with oysters for example) or at the end of a meal (after a fruity dessert - white fruits or citrus fruits).

Fin de Partie

"Fin de Partie" marks the end of the day and celebrates the beginning of happy gatherings. The kind one wouldn’t want to end. This generous single Malt, intense and elegant explodes in gourmet flavours. Its puzzling nose develops a woody bouquet, chocolate notes, dried fruits hints and a touch of vanilla with custard notes.

Prunes, spices and a peppery finish make this Lorraine whisky a little less disciplined than it first appears.

Aux Particules Vines

Aux Particules Vines is a whisky with a singular alchemy, the
perfect pairing between malt and grape which makes the wine and cereal french traditions talk to each other. Coming from Lorraine, this fourth edition benefits from a finish in barrels of a Premier Grand Cru Classé from the Left Bank of Bordeaux.

With a huge finesse, it expresses fresh red fruit and bunch of flower aromas, followed by a powerful fresh fruit and dry fruit mouth,
ushered by fine spices at the end.

This tribute to the vine work has to be tasted like a Grand Cru. Along with a fine dish and some good words.

Fin de Partie

Moderately sharp on the nose, with floral and camphor notes evident. There’s more wood influence here, particularly on the initially tough palate, which settles into a groove that showcases apple, golden raisins, and coconut notes. The finish remains on the tight side, focusing again on linen and floral notes — a touch of lavender in the mix. Quite feminine but evocative on the whole.

Aux Particules Vines

The nose is quite fresh and surprisingly gentle, lightly nutty and with a touch of lemon again. The palate is rich but easygoing, with some saline and mild smoke notes emerging over time. I also get cocoa powder here, though there’s ample malt in the mix, too. The finish is drying but quite aromatic — nutty and malty… and quite refreshing, inviting repeated sampling.

(D'un) Verre Printanier

There’s plenty of malt here, giving it a significant cereal character, but those secondary overtones dominate more clearly. On the palate, the whisky is soft and silky, again showing an ample malt/biscuit note, but cut nicely with vanilla and sugar cookie notes, giving it a golden, sunny composition. The finish is a bit rustic and a touch boozy, though notes of toasted coconut and malted milk emerge to give it some more nuance and a nice kick of sweetness.
